Welcome to Crossroads School,
Thank you for considering us for your child’s educational needs. We know finding a school for a child with a learning difference can be an overwhelming process. We hope that the information provided in the following pages will make the process easier and help you decide whether our school is a good fit for your child.
Crossroads students are healthy, bright children who are unable to thrive in a traditional academic setting, either socially or academically. Crossroads School provides an educational environment that is respectful of each student’s unique needs and learning styles, and encourages each student to maximize his or her own potential. With individually developed educational plans that include remedial and compensatory learning techniques, students soon learn that they can be successful and flourish.
Our faculty, staff and board of directors have an unwavering commitment to the students, the families and the school. We hope to have the privilege of working with your child.
With deep appreciation,

Created in 1977 in a remodeled 1960’s home in the Galleria area. All nine classrooms are still in use today. Our innovative school is committed to serving students with a variety of learning differences. At Crossroads School we teach children who learn in atypical ways how to become their own “best expert." Crossroads School addresses each child’s unique educational needs and provides them with the necessary skills to mainstream into a conventional classroom environment.
The Crossroads student is a child who has one or more forms of an academic learning difference and is unable to thrive in a traditional educational environment. While academics remain our primary focus, we understand that many secondary issues such as organizational and social skills difficulties often accompany a learning difference. At Crossroads School we directly address these issues both in the classroom and during non-academic times. We do so in multiple ways ranging from direct teaching of skills to modeling and role playing. In addition, a positive reinforcement system is used throughout the school.
Crossroads School, Inc. serves students with a wide variety of learning difficulties, with the majority of students carrying several diagnoses including but not limited to:
Some of our students are gifted and talented; some have learning differences due to a medical condition or due to pre-adoption circimstances.
Whatever the cause, Crossroads School specializes in making it possible for these children to become successful students. Most return to a traditional school environment and all go on to reach their highest potential.
Crossroads students are children who simply need to learn in their own special way. Our faculty and staff provide a safe place where individual strengths and the talents of each student can shine.
Crossroads School maintains a safe and nurturing environment in which each student feels a sense of support and belonging. This support provides our students with the courage to explore and take academic chances.
